Jessica Dayton, founding partner of ADZ Law, LLP, is a Certified Family Law Specialist representing survivors of domestic violence in civil matters, including restraining orders, custody, and torts, and advising on victims' rights in criminal cases. She previously led legal services at CORA for 10 years and worked in disability rights advocacy. Dayton earned her law degree from Golden Gate University in 2003 and clerked for Judge Michael Farrell of the D.C. Court of Appeals. She has published on the impact of mandatory arrest policies in domestic violence cases and the need to bridge civil and criminal legal systems for survivors. Dayton serves on the boards of WOMEN-SV, the San Mateo County Trial Lawyers Association, and the advisory board of the Family Violence Appellate Project. Active in policy reform, she has worked on legislative campaigns around domestic violence and victims' rights and regularly mentors pro bono attorneys.
